George Pickens 'Wouldn't Mind' Long-Term Cowboys Contract, Says He Prioritizes Winning

George Pickens is set to hit free agency after the 2025 season, but he said that he wouldn't mind settling down with his current team, the Dallas Cowboys, for the long term.

"I wouldn't mind it," Pickens told reporters when asked about staying with the Cowboys long term. "The guys in the locker room are super cool, the energy is great. I always want to showcase my talents."

As for what he's prioritizing for his NFL future, the wide receiver said he just wants to be in a place where he can win.

"Definitely winning. Just because that's been my resume the whole time," he said. "I won in high school, I won at Georgia. Definitely winning, I always think about winning."

Pickens reached the playoffs in each of the last two seasons while with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he has yet to play for a legitimate Super Bowl contender. The Cowboys, who are 2-3-1 on the year, haven't exactly looked like a contender just yet, but they have the talent needed to compete in the future.

Pickens is making a strong case to get a big payday this offseason, whether in Dallas or with another team.

With star receiver CeeDee Lamb sidelined with a high-ankle sprain, Pickens has stepped up in a big way. He has the third-most receiving yards in the NFL (525) and leads the league in receiving touchdowns (6) through six games.

He's well on his way to putting up a career year, and if he can keep it up, he should be compensated with a lucrative contract.
