John Cena's WWE Retirement Match Draws Almost 60K Fans to Ticket Pre-Sale

John Cena's retirement match in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 13 is reportedly already generating massive interest on the ticket market.

According to Wrestle Ops, nearly 60,000 people were in the online queue at one point during the pre-sale window on Wednesday.

Per Andrew Ravens of WrestlingNews.co, there are no tickets cheaper than $200 available on the secondary market.

The final match of Cena's illustrious career will take place at the Dec. 13 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event at Capital One Arena in Washington against a yet-to-be-announced opponent.

Cena has spent all of 2025 on a retirement tour, giving fans across the United States and the world a chance to see him perform one last time before he steps away from in-ring competition for good at the end of the year.

While WWE has yet to hint at who Cena's last opponent will be, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/tĀ Felix UptonĀ of Ringside News) recently reported that Gunther is expected to be the choice.

WWE is reportedly planning to hold a tournament to determine Cena's last opponent with Gunther coming out on top.

Gunther has been one of the most dominant Superstars in WWE the past few years, holding the Intercontinental Championship longer than anyone in history, and holding the World Heavyweight Championship on two occasions.

Cena and Gunther have never faced off in a one-on-on match, so fans would be treated to a first-time-ever bout in Cena's swan song.

Given that Gunther rarely loses, it is possible Cena would "do the honors" by giving The Ring General the big win before riding off into retirement.

Regardless of who the opponent ends up being, it should be a special night with a raucous crowd. Capital One Arena can only hold about 20,000 people for wrestling, though, which means many of those who want to be in attendance won't have the opportunity.
