Giants Reportedly Expect Fine for Jaxson Dart Concussion Protocol, Daboll to Avoid Ban

Joseph ZuckerOct 12, 2025

The NFL is expected to fine the New York Giants for violations of the league's concussion protocol, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

Glazer reported Sunday the Giants are "bracing" for a financial penalty but nothing more serious, such as a suspension to head coach Brian Daboll or the forfeiture of draft picks:

The NFL announced Friday a joint inquiry with the NFL Players Association into whether Daboll violated any rules for his actions as the team doctor was checking quarterback Jaxson Dart for a concussion during a 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The coach popped his head in the blue medical tent and had an animated exchange with the physician on the sideline with Dart's status still in flux.

Daboll told reporters after the game he had apologized to the team director and was making sure whether Dart was cleared to play rather than trying to influence any medical decision:

Team president John Mara issued a statement Friday saying he spoke with Daboll, who "understands that the appearance of going to the tent is inappropriate."

Dart was eventually cleared to get back on the field after Russell Wilson briefly ran the offense. He finished 17-of-25 for 195 yards and one touchdown as New York took down the reigning Super Bowl champion.

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported the NFL sent a memo to all 32 teams underlining the main facets of the concussion protocols in the wake of what transpired at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants are back in action on Oct. 19 against the Denver Broncos. Based on Glazer's report, they don't have to be concerned about Daboll's availability.
