Giants Troll Eagles on Social Media with 'Always Sunny' Joke After TNF Win

Adam WellsOct 10, 2025

The New York Giants are reveling in their dominant 34-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night.

In the aftermath of the surprising result, the Giants had some fun by creating an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia meme to troll their NFC East rivals.

The good news for the Eagles is the actual driving distance from MetLife Stadium to Lincoln Financial Field is only about 100 minutes, so they can pop in a movie to take their mind off this particular game and be home by the time it's over.

Even better, perhaps, the Eagles could watch roughly four episodes from the most recent season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia during the trip home to laugh away their troubles.

On the other hand, it's safe to say the issues that seemed to be bubbling up for the Eagles even amid their 4-0 start have quickly boiled over with two losses in the span of four days.

After blowing a 14-point lead to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, snapping their 10-game winning streak in the process, the Eagles allowed a season-high 34 points to the Giants.

Among the many things that has stood out for the Eagles amid this rough stretch is their run defense has collapsed. They have allowed 302 rushing yards in the last two games, including a season-high 172 against the Giants.

Philadelphia has allowed at least 130 rushing yards three times in six games this season. That matches its total from 2024 in 21 games between the regular season and playoffs.

Sticking with the running game, the Eagles are seemingly incapable of moving the ball on the ground anymore. They were held to 73 yards on 20 carries against the Giants.

Saquon Barkley's 3.4 yards per carry this season is his lowest since 2020 when he only played two games before tearing his ACL in Week 2.

The Eagles have lost back-to-back games for the first time since the end of the 2023 season. Everyone in Philadelphia is well aware of how that year started with a lot of promise, only to end with the team cratering by losing six of its final seven games.

It's still early enough in 2025 that the Eagles don't need to enter full-blown panic mode, but they need to start showing signs of life if they want to avoid more questions about what's going on.

Next up for the Eagles is a matchup with the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Oct. 19.
