The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their return to the NLCS in dramatic fashion on Thursday night.

The Dodgers won in the 11th inning on an errant throw by Philadelphia Phillies reliever Orion Kerkering that allowed the game-winning run to score.

Los Angeles will have to wait until Saturday to find out its NLCS opponent. The Chicago Cubs forced a Game 5 with their Game 4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night.

Over in the American League, the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners play Game 5 on Friday night to determine which team faces the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS.

The Dodgers are back in the NLCS for the second straight year and the fourth time in six years.

Los Angeles outlasted the Phillies over 11 innings in Thursday's Game 4 to advance into the next round.

The Dodgers now have some time to reset their rotation ahead of NLCS Game 1 on Monday night.

Shohei Ohtani, who would have started NLDS Game 5 in Philadelphia on Saturday, is the likely candidate to begin the NLCS for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers will have Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow available on regular rest for the first four games of the NLCS.

Milwaukee or Chicago's pitching staff will be taxed going into NLCS Game 1, no matter which team advances. The Brewers and Cubs are both expected to empty out their bullpens in Game 5 with a spot in the NLCS on the line.

The Brewers tried to close out their NLDS series behind Freddy Peralta in Game 4, but the Cubs jumped on him early and Matthew Boyd produced a gem for the home side.

The Dodgers have their pitching all set up, but they have to wait until Saturday to figure out where NLCS Game 1 will be played.

The Dodgers would travel to Milwaukee for Games 1 and 2 if the Brewers close out the Cubs. Los Angeles would be at home for the Games 1 and 2 if the Cubs complete the series comeback.

The ALCS matchup will be set on Friday night. The Tigers will put Tarik Skubal up against George Kirby and the Mariners in a rematch of the ALDS Game 1 meeting that went 11 innings.

Toronto will host whichever team advances from Friday night in Games 1 and 2 of the ALCS. The ALCS will start on Sunday night.
