Jared Verse Will 'Be F--king Furious' if Lamar Jackson is Out for Ravens vs. Rams

Andrew PetersOct 9, 2025

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse wants to face the Baltimore Ravens at their best on Sunday.

Per Adam Grosbard of the Los Angeles Daily News, Verse said he will be "f---king furious" if Lamar Jackson is sidelined because the Ravens quarterback is on his sack bucket list, along with Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

"He owes me a couple," Verse said.

Jackson missed last week's matchup against the Houston Texans because of a hamstring injury, and unfortunately for Verse, his chances of playing this week aren't looking good.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter on Thursday that Jackson is likely to be sidelined again this week.

"It's not tracking to be this week, right now, unless he somehow makes some surprising turnaround," Schefter said. "When the Ravens practiced yesterday, he was not out there due to that hamstring injury that sidelined him last week."

Jackson likely being out is bad news for Verse, since he may not have the chance to sack him, but it's even worse news for the Ravens, who desperately need their star quarterback back on the field.

Baltimore is 1-4 on the season after last week's walloping by the Houston Texans, and its playoff hopes are quickly diminishing with each loss.

The Rams are off to a decent 3-2 start but are coming off of an overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Whether Jackson plays or not, Verse will look to bring his best against the Ravens. The second-year player has had a strong start to the season with 22 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Luckily for Verse, he's still just 24 years old and has plenty of time to get a sack against Jackson.
