Jazz Chisholm Jr. Claps Back at Trolls for Criticizing Yawning Video from Yankees Win

Doric SamOct 8, 2025

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. isn't letting the trolls get to him after being caught on video yawning after a fielding blunder in Tuesday's Game 3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.

Chisholm took to social media to silence his haters, saying that yawning is just part of his routine:

Chisholm was caught sleeping in the third inning when he realized too late that Davis Schneider was running toward home plate. His throw wasn't on time, allowing the Blue Jays to take a 3-1 lead. After the run, he was shown yawning while waiting for play to resume.

Despite the untimely mistake, Chisholm made up for it in a big way later in the game. After Yankees star slugger Aaron Judge tied the game 6-6 with a three-run home run, Chisholm put New York in front for good with a solo blast that sent the crowd at Yankee Stadium into a frenzy as the team went on to earn a 9-6 win to cut the series deficit to 2-1.

Chisholm's fire has been a major boost for the Yankees this postseason. After he didn't start the team's loss to the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series, he scored the game-winning run in Game 2 to keep the season alive before New York won Game 3 to advance to the ALDS.

The Yankees will need every bit of Chisholm's intensity if they hope to stave off elimination once again in Game 4 against the Blue Jays, so the yawning likely will be at a minimum on Wednesday night.
