Odafe Oweh Reportedly Traded to Chargers, Ravens Get Alohi Gilman, NFL Draft Pick
The Baltimore Ravens have traded edge rusher Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.
The Ravens also traded a 2026 fifth-round pick in return for safety Alohi Gilman and a 2027 seventh-rounder, per Schefter.

Both Gilman and Oweh are playing this season on expiring contracts, per Spotrac. The Ravens are expected to save about $8 million in cap space following the trade, per Schefter.
Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton played one season alongside Gilman at Notre Dame, The Baltimore Sun's Josh Tolentino noted. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the Ravens hope Gilman "will give them a reliable deep safety to complement Hamilton."
Gilman has made 73 appearances (39 starts) over six seasons with the Chargers since the franchise selected him in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. He has recorded three pass breakups so far this season, per Pro Football Focus.
He may now be able to help the Ravens fill in for Hamilton, who was sidelined with a groin injury for the Ravens' Week 5 blowout by the Houston Texans last Sunday.
This season marks the first time the Ravens have gotten off to a 1-4 start since 2015, a season in which the team finished with a 5-11 record.
Baltimore is hoping to avoid a similar finish to the 2025 campaign despite the current absence of star quarterback Lamar Jackson due to injury.
Oweh, a first-round pick in the 2021 draft, had appeared in 67 games (25 starts) over five seasons with the Ravens.
After racking up a career-high 10.0 sacks last season, Oweh had yet to record a sack or forced fumble through five games prior to the trade, per Pro Football Focus. He dropped out of the starting lineup ahead of Week 5, then played a season-low 26 defensive snaps in the loss to the Texans.
The Chargers, which fell to 3-2 after losing on Sunday to the Washington Commanders, will hope a change of scenery can help Oweh bounce back down the stretch.
Oweh could potentially make his Chargers debut on Sunday in Week 6 action at the Miami Dolphins, while Gilman could be set to step in for an injured Ravens secondary the same day against the visiting Los Angeles Rams.
