Jaxson Dart, Theo Johnson's Fantasy Advice After Multiple TDs for Giants vs. Saints
It took one quarter for New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson to become one of the top fantasy football performers in Week 5.
Johnson and Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart combined for a pair of touchdowns in the opening frame against the New Orleans Saints.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With 11:04 left in the second quarter, Dart was an efficient 8-of-9 for 83 yards and two touchdowns, while the two touchdown grabs (totaling 16 yards) were Johnson's only catches.
Projecting out their value past this week, Dart and Johnson's yardage outputs provide a reason to be a bit cautious.
Johnson, a fourth-round pick in the 2024 draft, finished with 29 receptions for 331 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. Through four weeks, he was averaging even fewer yards per game (16.5) in 2025.
Sunday's performance does, however, justify those who thought the 24-year-old's stock was trending upward.
Somebody in New York's passing attack had to step up after star wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a torn ACL. Johnson might quickly become a steady target for Dart, especially if the coaching staff doesn't have faith in a rookie QB testing secondaries down the field without Nabers.
In general, the tight end position can be fickle. Outside of the elite performers, there tends to be a lot of volatility from week to week, and Johnson's Week 5 is a prime example. Two catches for 16 yards typically don't yield a lot of fantasy points, but they do when those two receptions wind up in the end zone.
For fantasy managers who haven't invested a lot in their tight ends, taking a flier on Johnson might be worth it. One game doesn't qualify as a true breakout, though.
With Dart, it's still too early too draw a lot of conclusions.
The No. 25 overall pick had 111 yards and a touchdown on 20 attempts in his debut. His second start is trending in a similar direction as his longest completion against the Saints so far went for 18 yards.
First-year signal-callers can make an immediate impact in the NFL. In last year alone, the quartet of Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye all ranged from elite to solid QB2 territory in standard leagues.
In the case of Dart, the long-term upside hasn't gone anywhere, and things may start to click as the weeks go on. For now, he's not somebody fantasy managers should go out of their way to add if he's available.
