Week 6 Waiver Wire Breakout Fantasy Football Pickups from Sunday's Box Scores

Erik BeastonOct 5, 2025

Three teams in need of significant help on the offensive side of the ball may have stumbled upon it, with young unknowns stepping up and providing just that.

They also opened the eyes of the fantasy world, announcing themselves as potential breakout waiver wire pickups worth adding to rosters.

Who are they, and why should managers consider reserving a spot for a mostly unproven entity?

Find out in this preview of the upcoming fantasy football week.

Isaiah Bond, WR, Cleveland Browns

1 of 3
Browns Lions Football

Rookie wide receiver Isaiah Bond had a slow start to the season but over the last two weeks, has flashed the potential to be a much larger part of the Browns' offense.

The former Texas Longhorn was targeted six times in a loss to Detroit last week and in Sunday's game in London, against the Minnesota Vikings, rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel looked his way seven times.

While he only hauled in five of those 13 targets, catches, and the ability to create separation will come with continued growth and development. What should have fantasy managers excited is that, whether Gabriel or Joe Flacco before him, the Browns quarterbacks have had growing confidence in him with each passing week to look his way in key situations.

In Week 6, he has a favorable match-up against a Pittsburgh Steelers team giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. If he can make the catches, there will be plenty of opportunities for the elite speedster to break games open and be the playmaker the Browns' offense needs.

Bond is available in nearly all ESPN and Yahoo leagues.

Theo Johnson, TE, New York Giants

2 of 3
Chargers Giants Football

Jaxson Dart is the Giants quarterback, for better or worse, and it appears as though the rookie has found a safety blanket of sorts in tight end Theo Johnson.

The second-year player out of Penn State showed up and showed out Sunday, catching six balls for 33 yards and more importantly, two touchdowns. In the two games that Dart has been under center for, Johnson has been targeted 12 times and tallied nine receptions. He had a touchdown in a Week 4 win over the Chargers, too.

As the relationship between the young quarterback and tight end grows, expect to see Johnson become a greater part of the game plan. He will not continue to score touchdowns at the clip that he has over the last two games, especially as opposing defenses become more aware of his goal line potential.

Still, he will get his looks from Dart and he has proven to be reception machine. That makes him valuable in PPR leagues. While he does not yet have the value of a top-tier tight end, grabbing and stashing him as an alternate is a quality move for managers in deeper leagues.

Ryan Flournoy, WR, Dallas Cowboys

3 of 3
Packers Cowboys Football

The Dallas Cowboys are hurting offensively. Not only is the offensive line a mishmash of plug-and-play tackles and guards, but the unit is also missing all-world receiver CeeDee Lamb, and, on Sunday, was without KaVontae Turpin.

Still, the team put up 37 points in a win over the New York Jets, thanks in some part to Ryan Flournoy, who caught six passes for 114 yards. He did not score a touchdown, but he was targeted nine times by Dak Prescott, a trend that will continue without Dallas' full array of wide receivers.

Opposing defenses are going to attempt to take away George Pickens, opening the door for another receiver to get looks and have the chance to take advantage of both the coverage and the quarterback's attention.

The Southeast Missouri State University export performed when his team needed him to and that will earn him more opportunities, especially with match-ups against Carolina and Washington coming up.

Whereas Johnson and Bond may be wait-and-see additions, Flournoy could very well be the case of add him and see what he contributes right away, especially in that high-powered Dallas offense.

Flournoy is available in zero percent of leagues right now. Managers should get him on their rosters now before it is too late.
