Amid the biggest push of his career, Bronson Reed and WWE agreed to terms on a new long-term contract.

Per Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Reed's new deal was actually signed "quite a long time ago."

The exact length of Reed's contract is unknown, but it is reported to be a multiyear agreement.

Reed is in his second stint with WWE, having returned to the promotion in December 2022 after being released in the summer of 2021. He started hanging around the mid-card and getting high-profile matches against stars like Gunther and Shinsuke Nakamura.

It was in 2024 when Reed really started to take off, beginning with his victory in the Andrรฉ the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. In the summer, he attacked Seth Rollins in one of the biggest angles on Raw and was part of the Bloodline team in the Survivor Series main event.

An injury took Reed out of action for several months, but since returning in May at Saturday Night's Main Event, he has been a main-event player as part of The Vision with Rollins, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman.

Given how highly WWE thinks of Reed based on who he aligned with right now and most recently working a singles match with Roman Reigns at Clash in Paris, his new deal is a nice reward for one of the best heels on the entire roster.

AEW Planned Andrade Return Prior to Signing

Andrade's return to AEW on last week's episode of Dynamite came as a surprise to fans for many reasons, but it was something that Tony Khan and the creative team had been thinking about for awhile before it took place.

Per Fightful Select (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Andrade's contract was finalized at some point last week, but AEW already had creative plans in place for him before the deal was done.

El Idolo appeared on Dynamite by attacking Kenny Omega following a six-man tag match and aligning with the Don Callis Family. He had just been released by WWE at some point in September reportedly for multiple wellness policy violations.

Even though Andrade's release happened within the past month, he was allowed to sign with another promotion almost instantly because his deal didn't include a 90-day non-compete clause.

Andrade previously worked for AEW from 2021 to '23 before going back to WWE. His original stint included singles matches with Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, Rey Fenix and Daniel Garcia.

Based on the angle used to bring him back, Andrade is being set up for a high-profile feud with Omega. His partnership with the Don Callis Family also suggests there are plans to make him a main heel player for the promotion.

AEW Delaying Omega vs. Fletcher Match

Even though AEW had planted the seeds for an Omega singles bout with Kyle Fletcher last month, the angle with Andrade on Wednesday suggests there was a pivot somewhere along the way.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Upton), Omega's "physical situation is not 100 percent" and the creative adjusted plans to avoid putting him in a situation where may not be able to have the caliber of match everyone would expecting with Fletcher at this point.

A Fletcher-Omega match seemed to be set up on the Sept. 3 episode of Dynamite when the Protostar beat up Omega after an eight-man tag match that took the Best Bout Machine off television for a month.

While it seems like there are still plans to eventually get to the bout, AEW did a smart job of being able to pivot by using Andrade's return to align him with Fletcher in the Don Callis Family and go after Omega.

This sets up a path that Omega has to get through before eventually securing his bout with Fletcher since there are two pay-per-views to come after WrestleDream on Oct. 18.
