Browns Reportedly Call Dillon Gabriel 'Computer' Because of His Processing Speed
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel has already made a strong impression on the team's coaching staff as he prepares for his first career NFL start.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Saturday that the Browns privately refer to Gabriel as "a computer" due to "how quickly he absorbs and processes information."
The 2025 third-round pick is in line to start under center for Cleveland against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 after veteran passer Joe Flacco, who started the first four games of the season, was benched on Wednesday.

Gabriel entered training camp as the No. 3 quarterback on the Browns' first unofficial depth chart. Confidence in him appeared to be high enough that Cleveland traded signal-caller Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders on Aug. 25 and moved the rookie up the No. 2 spot entering the regular season.
Gabriel has appeared in two games as a backup with the Browns this year, finishing 3-of-4 for 19 yards and one touchdown.
He wrapped up an efficient senior season at Oregon in 2024, completing 72.9 percent of his throws for 3,857 yards and 30 touchdowns compared to six interceptions.
Gabriel has a tough task ahead of him, as the Vikings own the NFL's No. 3 pass defense in 2025 by allowing a mere 151.5 yards per game through the air.
Kickoff between Cleveland and Minnesota in London is on Sunday is at 9:30 a.m. ET.
