Tyreek Hill Reportedly Expected to Be Released by Dolphins After 2025 NFL Season
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly expected to release wide receiver Tyreek Hill before the next league year begins in March 2026, league sources told CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones.
The 31-year-old Hill suffered a dislocated left knee as well as multiple torn ligaments after making a catch in the third quarter of his team's 27-21 home victory against the New York Jets on Monday. He will miss the remainder of the season.
Hill has one more year remaining on a revised three-season, $90 million contract.

Hill wants to come back, according to comments his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, made to WSVN 7News sports anchor Josh Moser (h/t Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald).
"We would love to get together with them after the season and figure something out that works for both sides and continue his career here in Miami. There's no reason why we can't," Rosenhaus said earlier this week.
"We will roll up our sleeves on our end. And if the Dolphins are willing, we will find a number that works for everyone."
The Dolphins have the option to save $36 million on the salary cap if they designate him as a post-June 1 cut. Miami would still take on $15.9 million in dead money, though, per Over the Cap.
Hill has largely been exceptional for the Dolphins since being traded from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. He had 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns during his first season in 2022 before adding a 117/1,799/13 line in 2023.
The 2024 season saw Hill play the entire year with a ligament issue in his wrist. That ailment held down his production, and he finished with 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns.
Hill had surgery for the wrist injury after the season and was good to go for this year. He caught 21 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown in three-and-a-half games before suffering the season-ending injury.
Now there's a big question mark on his Dolphins future.
In the interim, the Dolphins are moving forward without Hill this year. Their next game is Sunday at home against the Carolina Panthers.
