MLB World Series 2025 Odds for Updated Playoffs Bracket Entering ALDS, NLDS

Joe TanseyOct 3, 2025

The next stage of the MLB postseason pits the two World Series betting favorites against each other in the NLDS.

The Los Angeles Dodgers enter the weekend as the betting favorite, while the Philadelphia Phillies have the second-best odds to win the Fall Classic.

The other six ALDS and NLDS participants have odds of +550 or longer. Those numbers will likely change once the Dodgers and Phillies start trading punches on Saturday night.

The current World Series odds are fascinating from a few angles.

The Dodgers and Phillies have the two lowest odds to win the World Series, but only one of them will advance to the NLCS.

There's an opportunity to bet a team, like the Seattle Mariners, at their current price in case the number goes down as the Dodgers-Phillies series progresses.

Before the wild-card round, the Phillies were listed as the World Series favorite, but after the Dodgers swept the Cincinnati Reds, they moved into the favorite role.

Philadelphia's home-field advantage might be the X-factor in the best-of-five series with the Dodgers. The Phillies had the best home record in baseball during the 2025 regular season.

The other strange part of the odds board is that the Chicago Cubs have slightly better World Series odds than the top-seeded Milwaukee Brewers.

Milwaukee finished with the best overall record in the majors, but it has slightly worse odds to win it all than the team it is facing in the NLDS.

It's even stranger when you see that the Brewers are -125 on the NLDS series line against the Cubs.

It's no surprise that the Mariners and New York Yankees have the best odds among AL teams. Seattle is arguably the most complete team in the AL, while the Yankees might be difficult to beat now that they have three reliable starters at the front end of their rotation after Cam Schlittler's 12-strikeout performance on Thursday night.

You also have to consider the trends involving the wild-card winners.

Since 2022, six teams that were victorious in the wild-card round went on to play in the championship series.

The Yankees, Tigers, Cubs and Dodgers will try to extend that trend over the next week in the ALDS and NLDS.
