Angel Reese Says She Wouldn't Consider Owning WNBA Franchise After Playing Career
Angel Reese is one of the most prominent names in the WNBA, but don't expect her to remain with the league in any type of team ownership role after she retires.
"I would not," she said on her Unapologetically Angel podcast (34:20 mark) when answering a fan question asking if she would consider owning a franchise down the line.

The Chicago Sky star kept things simple with her answer, and it isn't exactly surprising she isn't focused on potential team ownership at this point. After all, she is just 23 years old and finished her second season in the league with most of her career still ahead of her.
While the Sky are just 23-61 since selecting Reese with the No. 7 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft, she has been impressive from an individual perspective.
Reese finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2024 and was an All-Star in each of her first two seasons. She has averaged 14.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field through two years and will look to take another jump as an individual performer in her third season.
Whether she will be on the Sky in 2026 remains to be fully seen, as she has publicly called out the franchise's roster building around her and created trade speculation in the process.
Wherever she ends up, there will be no shortage of attention directed her way. She was a headline name before she even arrived at the WNBA thanks to her impressive collegiate career at LSU and has plenty of endorsements off the court.
But it seems like she has no plans of parlaying her fame and career into team ownership in the future.
