Angel Reese Says She Made '6 Figures-Plus' Off Mebounds Merch, 'Tried to Clown Me'

Paul KasabianOct 2, 2025

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese said on her Unapologetically Angel podcast that she made over six figures off the Mebounds merchandise (15:25 mark).

"So the Mebounds, if you know, you know, they tried to clown me for rebounds, and what did I do? I made a bag off it. Six figures-plus, thank you. So y'all can try again, because I do need an idea for some more colorways, so just keep it coming."

Reese had received much criticism on social media for missing shots and grabbing her offensive rebounds, which led to the term "mebounds." However, Reese turned a negative into a huge positive, with part of the proceeds going to her foundation.

Reese averaged 14.6 points and a WNBA-high 12.6 rebounds this past season for the Sky. She also made the All-Star Game for the second time in her two WNBA campaigns.

Reese previoiusly spoke with Elle's Kayla Webley Adler about the "mebounds" trend and how it turned into a business opportunity.

"I didn't even know about mebounds until I got on TikTok and people were spamming it in my comments," she said.

"And then I was like, well, might as well make some money off of it. And we made a lot of money off of it. It's important to maximize the moment, and turn a negative into a positive. We clearly did that. Also, to be able to give some of the money to my foundation for cyberbullying was great. It was like killing two birds with one stone."

The mebounds merch even led to a new colorway on her signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1's from Reebok.

Ultimately, credit goes to Reese for turning the mebound trend into a great opportunity for herself and her foundation as well.
