Eagles, Ravens, Rams Ranked as Top Front Offices by NFL Execs, Coaches in New Poll
After building a roster that has reached the Super Bowl in two of the previous three years, including a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last season, the Philadelphia Eagles have the best front office in the NFL based on a vote of their peers.
In a survey of 29 general managers, executives and head coaches around the NFL conducted by The Athletic's Jeff Howe, the Eagles were voted the best front office with 11 first-place votes and 177 total points.
The Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills rounded out the top five.
One executive praised the Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman for their aggressiveness when it comes to making moves and being able to wring more value out of what they do than virtually any other team.
"They're probably even further along the spectrum in terms of understanding and acquiring value," the executive told Howe. "There's a level of aggression there. And they're really creative."
Even though the Eagles are the standard in the NFL right now because of the high levels of success they've had in recent years, the Ravens were a close second in the voting.
Baltimore received nine first-place votes and 163 total points in the poll. No other team had more than 100 total points.
"They have a diligent, logical approach," an executive told Howe of the Ravens. "There aren't a lot of head-scratchers. They have a type of player that they target."
Both the Eagles and Ravens are good at avoiding extended fallow periods. Since the start of the 2017 season, the two teams have combined to miss the playoffs a total of three times. They have been at or near the top of their respective conference in each of the past three seasons.
The Rams have almost quietly remade how they operate in recent years. After once being defined by an "F them picks" approach, which did lead to a Super Bowl title during the 2021 season, they have been a terrific drafting team recently.
Puka Nacua, Byron Young, Braden Fiske, Kobie Turner and Jared Verse have all turned into foundational pieces for the organization. All four of them were drafted between 2023 and 2024.
One thing that all of the teams near the top of the list have in common is a consistency from year to year that is very hard to pull off in a league built on parity. The Eagles, Ravens, Bills, Packers, Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are all in the playoff mix virtually every season.
Being able to do that given how much roster churn there can be every offseason speaks to how smart and effective all of these front offices are at knowing how to maximize their talent and where to invest in the draft and free agency.
