NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Utah OT Caleb Lomu
As a redshirt sophomore, Caleb Lomu is still in the early stages of his physical and technical development but displays very good movement skills with a keen natural feel as a pass protector that tracks toward becoming a solid NFL tackle. His traits help him negotiate leverage and get out of compromising positions at a high level.
Lomu is a 6'6", 313-pound tackle prospect who entered the Utah program as a 4-star recruit in the 2023 class.
Lomu started 24 career games at left tackle, including 12 in 2025 and earning first team All-Big 12 honors.

Where He Wins
1 of 4
- Excellent recovery skills due to very good body control and balance.
- Has the foot quickness and range to expand his set points and widen the corner against high-side rushes.
- Knows how to reset his hands and hips to get into his anchor and not panic against power.
- Showed an impressive ability to adapt in-game against Texas Tech's Romello Height's inside counters to not lose to the same move twice.
- Fluid mover in the zone run game with the burst and quickness to intersect targets on the move.
Areas of Improvement
2 of 4
- Inconsistent set lines and positional leverage in pass protection result in him floating/drifting past his spot to overset or too quickly opening up that prematurely shortens the corner.
- Below average play strength shows up primarily in the run game, leading to quick stalemates, soft edges and shaky sustain skills, especially on angle-drive blocks.
