Jerry Jones Expects Jadeveon Clowney to Debut for Cowboys vs. Micah Parsons, Packers

Doric SamSep 23, 2025

The Dallas Cowboys will have a new presence on defense for their Week 4 matchup against the Green Bay Packers and former star edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during a radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas that he expects veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to make his team debut on Sunday Night Football against the Packers.

Clowney signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys last week, but he was held out of Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears as he continues to acclimate himself to his new team. Dallas certainly could've used him, as the team suffered a 31-14 loss against the previously winless Bears and failed to sack quarterback Caleb Williams, who had sustained a sack in every game of his NFL career up to that point.

Clowney spent the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers and started all 14 of his appearances while recording 46 total tackles, 11 quarterback hits and 5.5 sacks. The 32-year-old made it clear upon his arrival in Dallas that he's not looking to fill the void left by Parsons, who was traded to the Packers this offseason in a blockbuster deal.

"No, Micah Parsons is Micah Parsons," Clowney responded to reporters when asked if he considers himself a replacement for Parsons. "I'm Jadeveon Clowney. I'm coming in to do me, just do my thing, help in any way I can and play football."

The Cowboys rank 30th in the NFL with an average of 397.7 yards allowed per game and 27th with 30.7 points allowed. Adding Clowney to the mix will hopefully shore up some of Dallas' deficiencies as the team tries to re-establish itself as a playoff contender in the competitive NFC.
