Wilson pulled off the MVP/Defensive Player of the Year double for the second time as she shared the latter with Lynx forward Alanna Smith. She closed the regular season on a heater as she averaged 26.1 points, 12 rebounds and 2.3 blocks during a 16-game winning streak for the Aces.

That incredible run vaulted Wilson to the top of the MVP ballot by what proved to be a sizable margin.

Collier had to settle for a second straight runner-up finish and her fourth All-WNBA nod.

The 29-year-old was once again a two-way force, averaging 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks. She also shot 40.3 percent from beyond the arc on a career-high 124 attempts.

Thomas likewise continued to be an elite playmaker and disruptor. Few players have been as consistent in recent years as thhe six-time All-Star, who has had five straight top-five finishes in the MVP balloting.

In her first season with the Mercury, she averaged the second-most assists (9.2) in a season while scoring 15.4 points and grabbing 8.8 boards per game. More broadly, her arrival in Phoenix had the intended effect as the Mercury improved from 19-21 to 27-17.
