MLB Player Hypes Alex Bregman's Impact on Red Sox in Playoffs, 'They Know How to Win'
A handful of teams have stood out as top contenders in the American League this year, but one AL player pointed out who he thinks is the team to beat.
Per ESPN's Jesse Rogers, the player pointed to the Boston Red Sox, noting a strong rotation with Garrett Crochet leading the way and an impact player on offense in Alex Bregman.
"It's the Red Sox. They are playing good baseball," the player said. "They have formidable pitching starting with [Garrett] Crochet and their lineup is cohesive and looks like they have a good time together. They know how to win with Bregman there."

Crochet has been as good as the Red Sox could've asked this season. The ace has a 16-5 record behind the fifth-best ERA (2.63) in the majors. Crochet also has an MLB-best 240 strikeouts.
Bregman has also been productive with 17 home runs, 59 RBI and a .278 batting average in 104 games. Not to mention, the two-time World Series champ brings a winning mentality to Boston.
After struggles in recent years, the Red Sox had a big offseason to ensure they would be contenders for the American League East in 2025.
Boston made a handful of notable additions over the offseason, including trading for Crochet and signing the star third baseman Bregman in free agency.
But the productive offseason didn't lead to immediate success for the Red Sox, and they seemingly hurt their chances when they conducted a blockbuster trade to send Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants.
That gutsy move didn't pay dividends at first as Boston saw its postseason hopes dwindle, but then a stellar run through the month of July put the Red Sox right back in both the playoff race and the AL East title race.
There are some things working against Boston heading into the postseason, namely injuries, as star rookie Roman Anthony is dealing with a left oblique strain that will keep him out for the rest of the year.
The Red Sox will count on Bregman, Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Trevor Story at the plate while leaning on a rotation highlighted by Crochet and Brayan Bello.
