Patrick Mahomes Feels Chiefs Are 'Close' Despite 0-2 Record After Loss to Eagles
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 0-2 after dropping Sunday's Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles.
While it's not the start they wanted, Mahomes believes Kansas City is "close" to figuring things out.
"I know it sucks to hear it for the fans, but I feel like we're close," Mahomes told reporters. "We've got to keep working and get ready for the Giants next week."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Chiefs fans aren't used to seeing this kind of start from their squad. In fact, the 0-2 start marks the first time Kansas City has opened up the season with back-to-back losses since 2014, well before Mahomes arrived and turned the Chiefs into the dynasty they are today.
To be fair to Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense, there are a handful of things working against them to start the year, the main thing being the absence of key players.
Wide receiver Rashee Rice, who recorded 938 yards and seven touchdowns in his last healthy season, is currently serving a six-game suspension. Second-year receiver Xavier Worthy missed Sunday's contest because of a shoulder injury he sustained in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers—though he reportedly is trending toward returning Week 3.
Once the Chiefs' offense has all of its key players on the field, it should improve tremendously from what it has been thus far.
Luckily for Mahomes and Kansas City, it gets a break from playing top teams next week when it faces the 0-2 New York Giants. That matchup should give the Chiefs the chance to bounce back and gain some confidence following a rough start.
