Drake London, Xavier Worthy, NFL Injury Statuses and Fantasy Impact for Week 2

Joe TanseySep 12, 2025

Fantasy football players received mixed news about some of the top wide receivers in the NFL ahead of Week 2.

Drake London will play in the Atlanta Falcons' Sunday night clash with the Minnesota Vikings.

However, Xavier Worthy's status for the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles doesn't look great.

Drake London Will Play On Sunday

Drake London's injury prognosis is massive not just for the Falcons, but for fantasy players with him on their rosters.

London generated 15 targets from Michael Penix Jr. in Week 1. He caught eight of those balls for 55 yards.

London had seven more targets than any other Falcons pass-catcher, a sign that he'll have an even higher volume with Penix as the starting quarterback than his previous seasons in Atlanta.

The high target rate will still be there for London, but he might struggle to create explosive plays against Brian Flores' Minnesota defense.

The Vikings only gave 198 passing yards on Monday as they frustrated Caleb Williams outside of the opening Chicago Bears drive.

London is always a must-start player in fantasy with his target share, but he may not be the highest scorer at his position this week because of the matchup.

Xavier Worthy Doubtful For Super Bowl Rematch

Xavier Worthy's status is more grim.

The Chiefs wide out is listed as doubtful with the shoulder injury that forced him to leave in the first quarter of last Friday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kansas City's offense and fantasy players should prepare for Worthy not to play on Sunday against the Eagles.

Patrick Mahomes adjusted in Week 1 by targeting Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster more.

Brown had 10 catches on 16 targets for 99 yards, while Smith-Schuster caught all five of his targets for 55 yards.

Both players are worth looks from the waiver wire because of how often Mahomes threw to them in Week 1. Philadelphia's secondary allowed CeeDee Lamb to go over 100 yards in Week 1, so there will be holes to exploit for Brown and Smith-Schuster.

One of the New England wide receivers could be worth a look as well if Miami's secondary doesn't improve. The Dolphins gave up 418 total yards in Week 1. Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas are the best Patriots pass-catchers to target.

Quentin Johnston, Cedric Tillman and Emeka Egbuka are among the other top waiver-wire targets at wide receiver going into Week 2.
