Ravens Reveal Purple Throwback End Zones for 2025 NFL Season in New Photo

Adam WellsSep 12, 2025

In honor of their 30th season in Baltimore, the Ravens are paying tribute to their past with an old-school look in the end zones at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens revealed the design of the end zones ahead of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

The design of the team name in each end zone matches what was used for the first season in Baltimore in 1996.

This week's game marks an ideal time for the Ravens to honor their history. In addition to being their home opener, they will be welcoming Joe Flacco back for his first game in Baltimore as a visiting player.

Flacco spent the first 11 years of his career with the Ravens. He is the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards (38,245), passing touchdowns (212), completions (3,499) and attempts (5,670).

The 2012 postseason is one of the all-time great runs by a quarterback. Flacco threw for 1,140 yards, 11 touchdowns and no interceptions in four games to lead the Ravens to a victory in Super Bowl 47. He earned MVP honors in the 34-31 win over the San Francisco 49ers after posting 287 yards and three touchdowns.

After Lamar Jackson took over as Baltimore's starting quarterback midway through the 2018 season, Flacco was traded to the Denver Broncos in February 2019. He has played on four different teams since leaving the Ravens. This season marks his second stint with the Browns.

Since the Ravens' inaugural season in 1996, they have the sixth-highest winning percentage in the NFL (.572).

The Ravens will be going for their first win of the season against Flacco and the Browns. They are looking to rebound after the dramatic 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
