Cowboys' Jerry Jones Says Micah Parsons Trade Was 'Best Way' to Win Super Bowl for Dak
In the eyes of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, trading away arguably the best defensive player in the NFL was an ideal way to improve quarterback Dak Prescott's chances at winning the Super Bowl.
"This was the best way to maximize our chance to get a Super Bowl for Dak," Jones said Friday during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan (h/t Jon Machota of The Athletic) when discussing the offseason decision to trade Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Dallas got two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark in return for Parsons, which should, in theory, help it build for the future alongside its own first-round picks in the coming years.
It will also have more financial flexibility since it was the Packers and not the Cowboys who gave the Penn State product a four-year, $188 million contract that features $136 million in guarantees.
Yet draft picks and financial flexibility are best used on superstar impact players who improve a team's chances at winning a Super Bowl. And Parsons is exactly that type of player.
He already has 1.5 sacks in two games for the 2-0 Packers and has never finished with fewer than 12 sacks in a season since he entered the league as a first-round pick in 2021. The four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro selection is a force multiplier on the defense as well because he draws so much attention from opposing offensive lines.
That has helped players such as Lukas Van Ness make an early impact in the first two games for a Packers defense that looked like one of the league's best during wins over fellow NFC contenders in the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders to start the season.
Perhaps Jones and the Cowboys can use the additional draft capital and financial flexibility to build a long-term contender around Prescott.
But they are still going to miss Parsons' overall impact.
