Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Says He Didn't Sleep Much After Drops in Loss to Eagles
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb told reporters he didn't sleep much last weekend after he had multiple drops in his team's 24-20 season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4.
Lamb amassed three drops, and he also missed a diving catch immediately after the fourth quarter's two-minute warning, leading to a turnover-on-downs. The Eagles ran the clock out from there for the win.

Lamb was certainly productive, catching seven passes for 110 yards. Unfortunately, the costly drops hindered Dallas' efforts.
Dallas faced a 2nd-and-10 from the Eagles' 23-yard line with the score tied at 14 and 2:49 remaining in the first half. Quarterback Dak Prescott hit Lamb on a slant, but he couldn't snag it. The drive ended with a field goal instead of a potential touchdown.
The first play of the fourth quarter also resulted in a drop. Dallas, losing 24-20, had a 3rd-and-10 from its own 49-yard line. Prescott found Lamb over the middle for what would have been a first down, but it instead fell incomplete, leading to a punt.
Dallas trailed 24-20 with 2:47 left but faced 1st-and-10 from its own 38-yard line. Prescott found Lamb for a deep ball, but he could not haul it in. A catch would have given Dallas the ball in the red zone.
Despite all that, the Cowboys had a chance to win the game, and Lamb had a shot to erase those drops. He could not get the final diving catch attempt, though, to put Dallas in position to win.
Of course, Lamb is one of the NFL's top wide receivers at his best. He notably dominated in 2023, catching 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lamb fared well last year, too, despite playing through (and then sitting two games) with a shoulder injury, finishing the season with 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns.
Lamb obviously took Week 1 hard, but he's clearly capable of a bounce-back, and he'll look to do just that Sunday when Dallas hosts the New York Giants.
