Jaxson Dart Praised as 'Tough as S--t' by Giants Insider amid Russell Wilson Struggles
Even though the Jaxson Dart era won't start for at least another week, the hype around the New York Giants rookie quarterback continues to grow.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, one Giants source described Dart as "tough as s--t" since they started working with him back in the spring.
The cries for Dart to be the starter in New York were already loud in the preseason when he played very well. They only got louder after Russell Wilson struggled in the Giants' 21-6 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 1.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Wilson finished 17-of-37 for 168 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. His 45.9 completion percentage was the second-worst of any quarterback in Week 1, ahead of only rookie Cam Ward (42.9 percent).
Despite the issues for the passing game, Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Monday that Wilson would remain the starter in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants made a big investment in Dart when they traded three draft picks to the Houston Texans for the No. 25 overall pick to select the Ole Miss quarterback. He enhanced the hype around him by going 32-of-47 for 372 yards with three touchdowns in three preseason games.
Dart also ran for 52 yards and a touchdown on six rushing attempts.
There's almost certainly going to be a point soon when Dart sees the field. Wilson is 36 and is no longer the caliber of athlete that made him one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL during his peak.
The fact that Daboll already had to address who his starter was going to be after just one game speaks to where Wilson is right now and how much anticipation there is in New York to see what Dart can do.
All of the buzz from the Giants since they drafted Dart has been very positive about his progress.
After Sunday's game at AT&T Stadium, the Giants have back-to-back home games against the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. Even though those are two difficult opponents, getting Dart acclimated to the NFL in a friendly environment wouldn't be a bad strategy if that's the direction Daboll takes.
