49ers' Christian McCaffrey Questionable vs. Seahawks in NFL Week 1 with Calf Injury
San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey is listed as questionable for a Week 1 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks due to a calf injury, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that McCaffrey suffered the injury in Thursday's practice and has "questionable concern" regarding the running back's availability on Sunday, per Pelissero.
The three-time Pro Bowler told reporters that he "feels great" and plans to suit up against the Seahawks, though.

McCaffrey, who was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice after practicing in full on Wednesday, discussed what happened to his calf.
"Nothing serious, I'll tell you that," McCaffrey said, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner. "Like I said, I feel great about where I'm at. Unfortunately when you have the injury history that I have, sometimes when you don't practice, things get blown out of proportion. But like I said, I feel great."
It's understandable that the 49ers want to be cautious with the 29-year-old, as he missed the first eight games of the 2024 season with Achilles tendonitis.
McCaffrey went on to appear in four contests before he was sidelined for the remainder of the year due to a PCL sprain.
He's proven himself as one of the NFL's top offensive players when healthy, pacing the NFL with 2,023 yards from scrimmage and 21 total touchdowns in 16 appearances during his 2023 campaign. McCaffrey was rewarded for his efforts with AP Offensive Player of the Year honors.
San Francisco will be hoping that he can take the field and make an impact against a Seattle defense that allowed opponents to average 4.6 yards per carry last season, the seventh-worst mark in the league (via Pro Football Reference).
While McCaffrey's availability against the Seahawks is uncertain, he's still optimistic about his Week 1 outlook.
