Seattle Kraken Reveal New 3rd Uniform for 2025-26 NHL Season in Video, Photos

The Seattle Kraken showed off a new alternate uniform Thursday for use during the upcoming 2025-26 NHL season.

Seattle's new uni was revealed in a video on the team's X account, representing a slight departure from the team's usual deep sea blue and ice blue color scheme:

The Kraken describe the jerseys as being all black with a "bioluminescent glow" around the crest, meaning the logo glows in the dark.

The bioluminescent glow and "sublimated sonar pings" on the sleeves of the jersey are meant to be a representation of the waters in the northwestern part of the United States.

Additionally, the jersey features a patch honoring the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, which is primarily located in Auburn, Washington, near Seattle.

The Kraken made their debut as an NHL expansion team during the 2021-22 season, and they are preparing to enter their fifth NHL campaign in 2025-26.

They made the playoffs for the first and only time during their second season in 2022-23, advancing to the second round where they fell to the Dallas Stars in seven games.

The past two seasons have been much more of a struggle, going 34-35-13 for 81 points in 2023-24 and 35-41-6 for 76 points in 2024-25, neither of which was good enough for a playoff berth.

Seattle is hoping a coaching change can get things back on track, as Dan Bylsma was fired following last season and replaced by former New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert.

Otherwise, the Kraken are returning much of the same roster, led by forwards Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, Kaapo Kakko, Jared McCann, Shane Wright and Jaden Schwartz; defensemen Brandon Montour, Vince Dunn and Adam Larsson; and goalie Joey Daccord.

The Kraken announced Thursday that season ticket holders can pre-order the new third jerseys starting on Sept. 5, followed by public pre-sale on Sept. 11. The jerseys will then go on sale in store and online beginning on Oct. 5.
