Lamar Jackson 'Locked In' on Season, Says 'Time Will Come' for New Ravens Contract

Doric SamSep 3, 2025

Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson could be the next quarterback to break the bank with a massive contract extension, but he's not thinking about his future deal on the cusp of the 2025 season.

When asked about a potential contract extension, Jackson told reporters on Wednesday, "I'm locked in. That time will come." He was asked further if an extension was possible during the upcoming campaign, and he replied, "The season is here. I'm looking forward to the season."

Jackson is signed through the 2027 season, per Spotrac. His average annual salary of $52 million per year is ranked 10th among quarterbacks, according to Over the Cap. Earlier this summer, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said the team is in the "introductory stage" of extension talks with Jackson.

Still, the 28-year-old has made it clear that he prefers not to make public comments about any contract negotiations. When asked about potentially resetting the quarterback market, he simply responded, "It sounds good."

Jackson is hoping to lead the Ravens to a spot in the Super Bowl after falling short of expectations in recent years, and he sounds confident that his contract will work itself out as he focuses on helping the team contend for a title this season.
