Jets' Justin Fields Says 'There's No Storyline for Me' in Game vs. Rodgers, Steelers
New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields discussed facing Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, his former team, in Week 1 of the 2025 season.
"There's no storyline for me," Fields told reporters Tuesday, via ESPN's Rich Cimini. "It's ball for me, so I'll let you guys kind of handle the storylines, the news lines and stuff like that. In the locker room, we just keep it straight ball."
The signal-caller appeared in 10 games, including six starts, with the Steelers during the 2024 season. As for Rodgers, he started in all 17 regular-season games for the Jets.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The upcoming matchup between New York and Pittsburgh will mark the first season-opening game between starting quarterbacks who changed teams they started for the prior year in NFL history (h/t Cimini).
While the Steelers didn't re-sign Fields in free agency and eventually added Rodgers, he doesn't have any negative feelings regarding them.
"No, not at all," Fields told reporters. "I'm a big believer in, everything happens for a reason. Like I said, I was in a spot last year where I was able to see the game from a different perspective."
Rodgers will be looking to keep the Steelers in the AFC postseason picture and lead them on a deeper run, as the team has suffered Wild Card defeats in each of its past four playoff trips.
Meanwhile, Fields is attempting to help the Jets snap the NFL's longest active playoff drought at 14 seasons.
Kickoff between the Jets and Steelers is on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
