Rampage Jackson Says Son Raja 'Took Things Too Far' in KO of Syko Stu in Viral Video
MMA legend Rampage Jackson once again took to social media to address his son Raja's viral incident with indie wrestler Stuart "Syko Stu" Smith.
In a lengthy caption written on an Instagram post, Jackson admitted, "Yes my son took things too far" when he slammed Smith to the mat and punched him in the head repeatedly in a viral video. He went on to add that he and his family have dealt with a lot of turmoil since the incident, even though it was supposed to be staged.
"Now my family and i are getting racist threats because of all the misinformation being posted so content creators can get paid from viewers!" Jackson wrote. "People actually think my son just snuck in a ring in front of a live audience and picked [Syko] Stu up without permission to be there! Get smart people! It was staged! But Raja took it too far!"
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported that the original slam was planned by Smith and Raja Jackson, but the subsequent punches weren't part of the script. TMZ reported that the Los Angeles Police Department opened an investigation into the matter, though no arrests have been made.
A video surfaced of an argument between Raja and Smith in which Smith hit him on the side of the head with a beer can. Smith was later seen apologizing to him. Jackson previously stated that Raja had recently suffered a concussion and should not have been participating in any physical activity at the event.
Smith announced in a Facebook post that he was released from the hospital on Sunday. He wrote that he sustained a serious head injury, lost several teeth and suffered trauma to both his upper and lower jaws, a laceration on the upper lip and a fracture to the maxilla bone.
