Jazz Chisholm Jr. Hypes Yankees Roster as 'Super Team,' Says They Have 4 MVPs

Despite some outside concern about how things have gone for the New York Yankees after a hot start this season, confidence remains extremely high within the locker room as they make a push for the playoffs.

Speaking to The Athletic's Chris Kirschner, Jazz Chisholm Jr. declared this Yankees roster to be a "super team" led by four MVPs.

"We all know that this is a super team," Chisholm said. "We got four MVPs on this team. We got a bunch of other superstars on this team, too."

It is technically true that the 2025 Yankees have four MVPs. Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt and Giancarlo Stanton all have at least one in their trophy case.

Judge is high in the running to win the AL MVP award for the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years. Stanton is hitting at an MVP level with a .300/.374/.635 slash line, albeit in just 53 games.

Goldschmidt and Bellinger aren't playing at that level, but they are both valuable contributors for the Bronx Bombers. Bellinger's 26 homers are tied for his most in a season since 2020. Goldschmidt is torching left-handed pitching with a .388/.460/.678 slash line in 137 plate appearances.

The Yankees lead all of MLB with 230 homers, 29 more than any other team. Per FanGraphs' offensive value metric, their 111.7 rating is 26.8 points higher than anyone else (New York Mets: 84.9).

That power output from the entire lineup is what gives the Yankees a chance to be a real threat in October. They also have two high-quality starting pitchers atop their rotation in Max Fried and Carlos Rodón.

This roster still has plenty of flaws that could haunt them in the playoffs. They have had serious lapses on defense and baserunning that have cost them games. One reason they lost the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers last season was because of defensive miscues.

After posting losing records in June and July, the Yankees have gotten back on track in August. They have won 11 of their last 14 games and are 15-11 overall with one game remaining this month.

The Yankees have climbed within three games of the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the AL East and moved ahead of the Boston Red Sox for the top wild card spot.
