Packers' Micah Parsons Talks Cowboys Trade, LB Is 'Great' Physically amid Back Injury

Joseph ZuckerAug 29, 2025

Micah Parsons isn't resting on his laurels after agreeing to a record-setting contract with the Green Bay Packers.

During his introductory press conference with Green Bay on Friday, the star edge-rusher told reporter that "winning is everything to me."

Parsons didn't provide any updates on the back injury that lingered throughout the season but said the Packers "didn't give up what they gave up to have me on the sidelines":

He added he feels a responsibility to deliver given how passionately Packers fans follow the team:

Parsons also sees the obvious comparisons between he and Hall of Fame defensive end Reggie White:

As excited as he is to play in Green Bay now, the four-time Pro Bowler said he was disappointed his exit from the Dallas Cowboys unfolded like it did. Neither Cowboys owner Jerry Jones nor COO Stephen Jones alerted him to the trade; he heard from his agent.

The Packers sent a clear message by making this trade and handing Parsons such a massive contract. They want to win another Super Bowl and believe he can help get them over the top.

The feeling seems to be mutual, with Parsons describing Green Bay as a place where he "can take my next step."

Parsons has yet to intercept a pass and has returned just one fumble for a touchdown through four seasons, yet he's already envisioning his first touchdown at Lambeau Field:

Packers fans had to wait to hear the 26-year-old speak as his presser started much later than its original time of 7 p.m. ET. When he finally took to the podium, he hit all the right notes.

Now, the hope is that he'll be on the field in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 7.
