George Pickens Reacts to Cowboys Trading Micah Parsons, 'Best for Both Parties'
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens discussed the team's decision to trade star pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.
"I just feel like, like I said, the best for both parties," Pickens said in an interview with NFL Network's Jane Slater. "Especially for him and what he wanted. Especially for what the organization wanted."
The Cowboys sent Parsons to the Packers in the blockbuster swap and received a package that included defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in return.
Green Bay handed the four-time Pro Bowler a four-year, $188 million contract following the deal.
Parsons initially requested a trade from Dallas on Aug. 1 after contract talks with the team broke down. Both sides never ended up finding common ground in negotiations, leading to the trade.
Pickens is familiar with experiencing a change of scenery, as he was acquired by the Cowboys in a swap with the Pittsburgh Steelers in March. Dallas sent Pittsburgh a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round selection in exchange for Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round draft choice.
After hauling in 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns last season, Pickens will serve as a complementary option alongside CeeDee Lamb in Dallas' passing attack.
