Fantasy Football 2025 Sleeper RBs to Target in Updated Flex Rankings

Kristopher KnoxAug 31, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys will open up the 2025 NFL season on Thursday, meaning fantasy enthusiasts are quickly running out of time to prepare for drafts.

By now, though, most fantasy managers probably know who they're planning to target early. After all, they've probably been exposed to mock drafts and rankings for most of the offseason, even if they only gave a sporadic glance at the fantasy landscape.

The challenge on draft day, though, is uncovering those late-round gems who can help protect against the unknown and turn a playoff-caliber squad into a champion.

With this in mind, let's examine some sleeper RBs to consider in point-per-reception (PPR) leagues this season.

Tyrone Tracy Jr., New York Giants

2 of 4
Giants Commanders Football

New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. isn't a sleeper in the traditional sense. Ranked within the top 100, the second-year back is on the radar of many fantasy fanatics. However, he's still being undervalued by most.

Tracy didn't open last season as New York's starter, but by season's end, he was a high-volume running back who helped carry many fantasy teams into the postseason. Though he only started 12 of 17 games, Tracy finished with 38 receptions, 1,123 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns.

The Giants did add fourth-round running back Cam Skattebo to the mix this offseason, but there's a good chance the rookie cuts into Devin Singletary's workload more than Tracy's.

Consider Tracy a high-end flex option that should be targeted higher than his current average draft position (ADP) of 73.

Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys

3 of 4
Cowboys Camp Football

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams also has an ADP just inside of the top 100 (barely), but he's being overlooked even more than Tracy is.

The concern is understandable. Williams hasn't looked like the same explosive back he was before his 2022 ACL tear, and the Cowboys haven't had a consistent ground game in years. Still, Williams is widely expected to be the starter over Miles Sanders and rookie fifth-round pick Jaydon Blue.

Starters, even for bad teams, should be getting picked higher than Williams is. Add in the fact that he's a capable receiving back (52 catches in 2024), and Williams feels like a bona fide sleeper.

With a defense that wasn't good in 2024 and will now play without Micah Parsons, Dallas is likely to do a lot of throwing this season.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., Washington Commanders

4 of 4
Ravens Commanders Football

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. is a true deep sleeper whom managers should be looking to snag in the final few rounds.

Rookie Bill Croskey-Merritt has garnered all of the hype this offseason and is expected by most to start for the Commanders in Week 1. The Arizona product shined in the preseason before sitting out the finale with most of Washington's starters.

Washington also likes its backfield enough that it traded Brian Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers.

However, Rodriguez shouldn't be overlooked. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry last season in limited action and figures to be a power complement to Croskey-Merritt and Austin Ekeler. He could have a far bigger role than many expect, and he could steal a lot of Washington's goal-line work.

With an ADP over 200, Rodriguez can likely be snapped just before defenses and kickers.
