Cowboys' Kenny Clark Says His 'Game Speaks for Itself' After Micah Parsons Trade

Mike ChiariAug 29, 2025

New Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Kenny Clark expressed confidence in his ability Friday after arriving as part of the blockbuster Micah Parsons trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since the deal went down, Clark said, "Just watch the film. I don't do too much talking. My game speaks for itself. … I can get off the ball with the best of them."

Jon Machota of The Athletic added that Clark said he is fine with playing either nose tackle or 3-technique tackle, and that he is fully healthy after undergoing offseason toe surgery.

Per ESPN's Todd Archer, Clark made it clear that he is committed to bringing the best version of himself to Dallas, saying, "This franchise is going to get everything I got."

On Thursday, the Cowboys landed Clark and two first-round picks in exchange for Parsons, who was a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro over his four seasons in Dallas.

The 29-year-old Clark was consistently among the best nose tackles in football throughout his nine-year tenure in Green Bay, earning Pro Bowl selections in 2019, 2021 and 2023.

He is just two seasons removed from arguably the best year of his career when he recorded 44 tackles, matched his career high with nine tackles for loss and set a new career high with 7.5 sacks.

Expectations were high for the UCLA product entering last season as a result, but he ended up struggling through a highly disappointing campaign.

Despite starting all 17 games, Clark had just one sack, which was his fewest since recording none as a rookie in 2016.

Clark also had his fewest tackles (37) since his rookie season and his least tackles for loss (four) since 2020.

As it turns out, Clark suffered a toe injury during the Packers' season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil in 2024, and that ailment nagged him for the rest of the year.

Now that the issue has been taken care of via surgery, there is reason to believe that Clark could bounce back in a big way with the Cowboys.

Although Clark still has to get up to speed with the playbook, he said Friday that he hopes he will be able to play next Thursday night when the Cowboys open the season on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles.

Clark figures to be a starter alongside Osa Odighizuwa at some point in 2025, but while he gets settled in, it might make sense for the Cowboys to start 2023 first-round pick Mazi Smith in Week 1 and work Clark in as part of a rotation.
