Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Packers sent two first-round draft picks and Kenny Clark to the Cowboys in exchange for Parsons. He signed a four-year, $188 million contract extension with Green Bay as part of the deal.
Wide receiver Jayden Reed currently wears No. 11, though he was initially assigned No. 1 by the Packers before they reversed course. The 25-year-old used three different numbers during his college career, including No. 1 for his final two seasons at Michigan State from 2021 to 2022.
No Packers player has worn jersey No. 1 since Curly Lambeau from 1925 to 1926. The number hasn't been officially retired by the organization, but it's generally believed to be unavailable given the historical importance of Lambeau to the Packers.
Parsons has worn the No. 11 dating back to his freshman year at Penn State in 2018. The number has served as a rite of passage for Nittany Lions linebackers since LaVar Arrington wore it during his two seasons with the program from 1998 to '99.
Since Arrington donned the number, it has only been issued four times to the following players: Parsons (2018-19), NaVorro Bowman (2007-09), Brandon Bell (2013-16) and Abdul Carter (2022-24).
Three of those four players were drafted into the NFL. Bell was the only one who didn't play a game in the league. Bowman made the All-Pro first team four times in his first six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
Carter is preparing for his rookie season after being selected with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL draft by the New York Giants.
Parsons is a two-time member of the All-Pro first team in his first four seasons. He ranks fifth in the NFL with 52.5 sacks since 2021. Rashan Gary leads the Packers with 38 sacks during that span.
