It was just a year ago that the Cowboys became the first sports franchise ever to be worth $10 billion. The team's $13 billion value is a 29 percent increase from 2024 and double its valuation from just four years ago.
Dallas is joined by the Los Angeles Rams ($10.5B) and the New York Giants ($10.1B) in the $10 billion club. The NBA's Los Angeles Lakers were also recently sold for $10 billion.
This is the first time that all 32 NFL teams are worth at least $5 billion, with the Cincinnati Bengals bringing in the rear at $5.25 billion. That figure surpassed Forbes' 2024 valuation of all 32 NHL teams and all but seven franchises in the NBA and MLB.
Still, the Cowboys are in a class of their own. According to Forbes estimates, Dallas had a 2024 revenue of $1.2 billion, at least $400 million more than any other NFL team. The team's operating income of $629 million last season means the Cowboys "made more in profit than 16 teams logged in revenue." Teitelbaum and Knight noted that team owner Jerry Jones "might draw even higher bids" than the $13 billion value if he ever decides to put the franchise on the market.
The 2025 season marks 30 years since the Cowboys' last Super Bowl title, but the lack of championship success hasn't stopped Dallas from raking in the cash. Star quarterback Dak Prescott and company will surely be motivated to bring the franchise back to title contention this year.
