Cowboys Re-Sign Will Grier to Practice Squad Contract as QB3 Behind Prescott, Milton
The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed quarterback Will Grier to the team's practice squad after cutting him from the active roster on Tuesday, the team announced.
Grier was released in the Cowboys' final wave of cuts before finalizing the initial 53-man roster. As a vested veteran, he didn't have to clear waivers before re-signing with the team.
He now remains the Cowboys' third-string option behind starter Dak Prescott and backup Joe Milton.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2019 draft, Grier made two starts in his rookie season but has not seen regular-season NFL action since.
Grier previously was with the Cowboys organization during the 2022 and 2024 seasons.
He has also spent time with the practice squads of the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.
Grier appeared in all three of the Cowboys' preseason games this month, going 7-for-14 for 87 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Dallas is hoping to see a fully healthy campaign from Prescott, who has spent the offseason rehabbing from the hamstring surgery that cut short his 2024 season.
In case of injury, however, Grier could see another call-up to the Cowboys' active roster this season.
The Cowboys also signed linebackers Justin Barron and Buddy Johnson, defensive tackle Earnest Brown, guard Saahdiq Charles, tackle Geron Christian, safety Alijah Clark, wide receivers Jalen Brooks, Jalen Cropper and Traeshon Holden, running back Malik Davis, tight ends Rivaldo Fairweather and Princeton Fant and cornerbacks Kemon Hall and Robert Rochell to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Dallas now has 15 players on the practice squad. The team has one regular spot remaining and one available through the International Pathway Program exemption, per DallasCowboys.com's Patrik Walker.
