Cowboys' Micah Parsons, Brian Schottenheimer Had Hour-Long Talk Amid Contract Hold-In
As the Micah Parsons and Dallas Cowboys saga continues with the start of the 2025 regular season looming, the pass-rusher and head coach Brian Schottenheimer held a lengthy discussion.
Schottenheimer said Tuesday he spoke with Parsons for an hour, although he did not provide any specifics of the actual conversation, per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.
This comes after Schottenheimer told reporters Saturday he would talk with Parsons about some of his actions during Friday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.

"Without talking to Micah, I need to figure out what he was doing and why he was doing it," Schottenheimer said. "So, until I talk to him, I'm obviously not going to talk about it."
The Penn State product was the only Cowboys player to not wear a jersey during the game, and he was seen lying on the medical table behind the bench as Dallas' offense was driving down the field.
Parsons' situation has been the biggest storyline for the Cowboys' training camp and preseason, especially after he requested a trade on Aug. 1. Team owner Jerry Jones seemed to brush off the trade request in the immediate aftermath and told reporters "that's just part of negotiation."
The back-and-forth has largely continued and took another turn Thursday when Jones appeared on Michael Irvin's YouTube show and said Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, "told us to stick it up our ass" when the team offered a deal:
Yet ESPN's Ryan Clark said Mulugheta denied such an interaction:
That the Cowboys start the season with a showdown against the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4 only adds another layer to the hold-in. They will be much better positioned to perhaps challenge the reigning Super Bowl champions if Parsons is available and on the field, which would seemingly create some level of urgency.
Yet the situation remains unresolved, which has done nothing but create uncertainty for a Dallas team looking to bounce back from last season's 7-10 record.
