Jakobi Meyers Trade Inquiry Reportedly Rebuffed by Raiders amid NFL Rumors
The Las Vegas Raiders have "no intention of trading" Jakobi Meyers despite the wide receiver's reported request to be moved to a new team, ESPN's Adam Schefter said during a Tuesday appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
According to Schefter, the Raiders have already turned down a trade offer from a team looking for Las Vegas to retain some of the $14.9 million cap hit remaining on Meyers' contract.
"The Raiders are not willing to do that, and they're not looking to deal him. So Jakobi Meyers is going to be there, barring something unforeseen happening," Schefter said.

Meyers is currently set to make $11 million in cash next season, per Spotrac. He is projected by Spotrac to receive a two-year, $60 million extension that would make him one of the ten highest-paid receivers in the NFL.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday that Meyers had recently met with Raiders leadership and requested a trade, but that "the team, citing his value, said they had no plans to do so."
According to Rapoport, Meyers and the Raiders "attempted to negotiate a new contract, but could not come to terms."
The Athletic's Dianna Russini responded to the reported trade request by noting that the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets are teams that are continuing "to scour the veteran wide receiver market" ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET roster cutdown deadline.
After four seasons with the New England Patriots, followed by signing with the Raiders in 2023, Meyers enjoyed a breakout 2024 campaign during which he recorded a career-high 1,027 receiving yards despite playing just 15 games.
The Raiders just brought back veteran wideout Amari Cooper on a one-year deal. The Las Vegas Review-Journal's Adam Hill reported that Cooper's signing, which took place hours after Meyers told the team he wanted a trade, was a decision made "independent" of Meyers' situation.
Hill also noted that because Meyers typically plays in the side while Cooper serves as an outside option, the two wideouts could play together as new Raiders head coach Pete Carroll looks to build an offense around Geno Smith.
First, however, the Raiders may need to improve their relationship with Meyers in order to ensure the wideout is on good terms with his team when the season kicks off on Sept. 7 against the Patriots.
