Amari Cooper Fantasy Outlook After Raiders Contract, Updated WR Depth Chart
Wide receiver Amari Cooper is reuniting with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, signing a one-year deal on Monday with the organization that drafted him in 2015.
Just how prominently he'll feature in the team's passing game, however—and just how much he produces for fantasy enthusiasts—remains to be seen.
There's little doubt that tight end Brock Bowers will probably lead the way in that regard after his epic rookie season. But the Raiders don't have a ton of truly established options from there, with Jakobi Meyers atop a wideout group that also includes Tre Tucker and rookies Donte Thornton Jr. and Jack Bech.

Granted, it remains to be seen if Meyers will remain with the Raiders. On Monday, The Athletic's Tashan Reed reported that, "After approaching the Raiders in search of a contract extension and failing to come to an agreement, Meyers has requested a trade, according to a team source. The Raiders denied his request."
With Meyers sticking around, Cooper has the chance to be the third option for the Raiders in the passing game. Without him, he would probably be the No. 2 target for quarterback Geno Smith.
Granted, the 31-year-old isn't coming off a banner year. In 14 games last season between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills, Cooper managed just 44 catches for 547 yards and four touchdowns. It was the worst season of his career, and a far cry from the 1,250 receiving yards he managed in 2023.
It's fair to assume that, given Cooper's age, he's probably closer to the player we saw in 2024 than the one we got in 2023. But he should still to carve out a solid role for a Raiders team that doesn't have a ton of proven weapons in the pass game.
There will be mixed opinions on Cooper's fantasy upside, and at best he's worth a flier as your WR5-6. He should get a decent target share, but expecting him to produce high-end numbers at this point of his career is unwise.
