WWE NXT Heatwave 2025 Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights

Chris MuellerAug 24, 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of NXT Heatwave 2025.

This year's event took place in Lowell, Massachusetts and featured a wide variety of title matches and stipulations. Here's a look at the card from Sunday's event:

  • Oba Femi vs. Je'Von Evans (NXT Championship)
  • Chelsea Green and Ethan Page vs. Tyra Mae Steel and Tavion Heights
  • Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice (No. 1 Contender's match)
  • Jacy Jayne vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Ash by Elegance (TNA Knockouts Championship)
  • Hank and Tank vs. DarkState (NXT Tag Team Championships)
  • Jordynne Grace vs. Blake Monroe

Let's take a look at everything that happened at this year's Heatwave PLE.

Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice

1 of 7
NXT

The action for Heatwave kicked off with the women's No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat match featuring Parker, Jordan and Vice.

Parker tried to assert her dominance early, but Vice and Jordan sent her out of the ring with some teamwork before focusing on each other. Once Parker recovered and got back in, she took out both opponents at the same time.

There was never a lull in the action because they started taking turns. One woman would sell for a bit while the other two fought, and then they would cycle someone else out. It's a familiar pattern used to keep everyone fresh.

All three of these Superstars have proved they can go in the ring, so there was no shortage of fun spots and moments. That being said, it also felt like some of the bigger spots weren't being sold enough.

It never felt like any of the three competitors had a clear advantage over the others, so the outcome was one of the harder ones to predict all night. Vice ended up securing the win to earn a future title shot.

Result: Vice defeated Parker and Jordan

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Jordan's family was sitting ringside to watch her perform.
  • Booker T has gotten way too comfortable saying questionable things during women's matches. We got away from that for a reason.
  • The blockbuster spot looked good.

Hank and Tank vs. DarkState

2 of 7
NXT

The NXT tag titles were on the line when Hank and Tank defended the belts against two members of DarkState, but they didn't found out who they were facing until the match started.

It ended up being Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox who represented the group. Saquon Shugars was playing some mind games before the match got started.

DarkState used their numbers advantage to take control early and maintained the upper hand by keeping the champions isolated.

Tank eventually got the hot tag and started going on a rampage. He was even going after the guys at ringside who weren't in the match. The ref definitely let the rules slip a little for this one.

This match had good energy, but it was a little too all over the place at times. That is DarkState's whole vibe, so it's not out of the ordinary. It's just not ideal either.

After some interference from Curler James, Lennox and Griffin got the pin to become the new NXT tag team champions.

Result: DarkState defeated Hank and Tank

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • It's interesting to see a group in WWE with no clear leader for once.
  • Hank and Tank had on some jerseys meant to resemble Blackhawks jerseys.
  • Lennox has good explosive energy.

Jacy Jayne vs. Masha Slamovich vs. Ash by Elegance

3 of 7
NXT

The TNA Knockouts title was on the line in the next match when Jayne put the belt on the line against Slamovich and Ash.

After the initial exchange, the action spilled out of the ring where Masha took out the entire Fatal Influence stable with a suicide dive.

These three competitors did not hold back and turned this into a very physical encounter. Fans who only saw Ash's work as Dana Brooke in WWE might be surprised by her performance in this bout because she has improved a lot since leaving WWE.

Even though Ash was involved in plenty of spots, it felt like this match was all about Jayne and Slamovich. They had the most near-falls and the biggest moments.

Jazmyn Nyx was caught cheating and booted from ringside, which made no sense because there are no disqualifications in triple threat matches.

The Elegance Brand ended up pulling Jayne out of the ring, which allowed Ash to hit her finisher on Masha to get the win and become the new Knockouts champion. The Elegance brand had all the gold as they celebrated the victory.

Result: Ash defeated Slamovich and Jayne

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Masha was alone but the other competitors had their groups with them.
  • Jayne has become such a hard hitter. The way she dropkicked Masha into the corner looked so stiff.
  • WWE has never had disqualifications in triple threat matches, so outside interference is part of the deal. It was weird to have it be a factor in this bout.

Blake Monroe vs. Jordynne Grace

4 of 7
WWE - Evolution

One of the biggest grudge matches on the card saw Grace finally have a chance to get her hands on her former friend, Monroe.

Monroe hit a slap and then immediately regretted it and tried to run from Grace. The Juggernaut eventually caught up to her and pounded her into the mat.

Once Monroe had control, she slowed the pace down a bit and started using submissions to keep Grace grounded.

This was a physical match, but it never felt like it reached the level it should have after the personal attacks Monroe made against Grace during the buildup. Grace should have been out for blood, not trying to work her normal style.

The bottom turnbuckle pad was removed and it allowed Monroe to stomp Grace's head into it before pinning her for the win. The crowd went almost silent for the finish, which was surprising because the match had decent heat.

Result: Monroe defeated Grace

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Grace's power looks almost effortless. The way she can pick someone up and throw them around with ease is impressive.
  • The spot on the steel steps with Monroe pulling Grace down looked good.
  • It looked like Monroe forgot she was supposed to stay up for a moment for the jackhammer. Grace had to rotate and put her down earlier than usual.
  • Small pieces of both women's gear flew off at different points in the match.

Chelsea Green and Ethan Page vs. Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steel

5 of 7
NXT

It was battle of Canadian patriots vs. American Olympians in the penultimate match when the duo of Green and Page took on Steel and Heights in a mixed tag match.

The women got the match started, much to Green's chagrin. She tried to attack Steel from behind but ended up being gator-rolled all over the ring.

Despite this match taking place in the United States, it felt like the crowd was pro-Canada, which caused Page to grab a mic and say they would not give any of them citizenship in an attempt to get the fans behind the babyfaces again.

Alba Fyre and Piper Niven got involved and helped Green get the win by pinning Steel. This ended up being a solid match that would have benefited from a few more minutes.

Result: Green and Page defeated Heights and Steel

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Steel and Heights had some special gear made for this match. Green and Page had matching gear made.
  • The crowd was really behind Chelsea and chanted for her multiple times.

Oba Femi vs. Je'Von Evans

6 of 7
WWE - NXT Great American Bash

The main event of Heatwave featured Femi defending the NXT Championship against Evans. Both men came into this match as babyfaces, so the crowd was cheering for both and did not seem to have a favorite.

Femi wanted to intimidate his opponent and used his power to make sure he knew who was the physically dominant man in the ring. The Young OG tried to fire off some chops, but the champion swatted him away.

Evans nailed a superkick that knocked Femi to the mat and made him do a double-take. The high-flyer stayed on him and hit some nice moves to keep him off balance.

The champion eventually regained control, but it never felt like he was as dominant as he was when it started. They told a good story of how Evans was wearing him down and surprising him with his resilience.

The last few minutes was the most exciting portion of the match. Evans was pulling out all the stops and Femi was doing his best to fight him off. They had the crowd chanting "This is awesome" as they built toward the finish.

It looked like Evans was going to win, but Femi's foot was under the rope for the pin. So, another ref waved off the call and the match continued. Femi scooped his rival up and threw him over the top rope and through the announce table in the wildest spot of the night.

The crowd was not happy about it, but Femi ended up getting the win to retain his title.

Result: Femi defeated Evans

Grade: A-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Josh Briggs was shown telling Femi he is coming for the title if he is able to retain it against Evans.
  • Evans had a lot of tape on his shoulder to sell the injury.
  • The superkick from Evans that knocked Femi down looked brutal.

The Final Word

7 of 7
WWE - NXT Heatwave

NXT Heatwave was exactly what we have come to expect from an NXT PLE. It had some decent action and a couple of surprises, but nothing that happened is going to dominate the news cycle.

Ash winning the Knockouts title was shocking, especially since WWE tried to telegraph a victory for Slamovich during the buildup to the event.

DarkState winning the tag titles was predictable but will be a welcome change and add some chaos to the division. Hank and Tank are a solid duo, but their reign had already run out of steam, so this was the best decision for everyone.

The two bouts that stood out the most were the women's No. 1 Contender's match that was won by Vice, and the main event NXT title bout between Femi and Evans.

Both matches showcased some talents who could be future stars on the main roster. NXT has a great roster that often feels underserved by the week-to-week storytelling. Let's hope the rest of 2025 sees these same men and women continue to shine.
