Shilo Sanders Ejected for Punching Bills' Zach Davidson in Bucs' NFL Preseason Finale

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie safety Shilo Sanders was ejected from his team's preseason home game against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday after throwing a punch at Buffalo tight end Zach Davidson.

To set the scene, Buffalo faced a 2nd-and-9 from the Tampa Bay 23-yard line with 6:59 left in the first half. Quarterback Shane Buechele completed a one-yard pass to wide receiver Elijah Moore.

Downfield, Davidson blocked Sanders and held on to finish the block, pushing him downfield. Another camera angle showed that Davidson appeared to get into Sanders' facemask.

Sanders didn't take kindly to Davidson's actions and took a swing. Referees immediately threw the flag and ejected the ex-Colorado defensive back.

Sanders is fighting to make the Buccaneers' final 53-man roster. The latest prediction from Scott Reynolds of the Pewter Report has Sanders landing on the practice squad. JC Allen for Tampa Bay Buccaneers on SI also saw Sanders going to the practice squad.

Sanders played in all three of Tampa Bay's preseason games. He had a solo tackle and a quarterback hit in a 29-7 win over the Tennessee Titans. Sanders then registered two solo tackles in a 17-14 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Against Buffalo, Sanders had one solo tackle before the ejection.

Tampa Bay signed Sanders as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado. Sanders, who is one of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders' three sons, has stuck with the Bucs throughout all of preseason and training camp.

In two seasons with Colorado, Sanders amassed 137 tackles (99 solo), five forced fumbles, a sack and an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown.
