Cowboys' Micah Parsons' MRI on Back Injury 'Came Back Pretty Clean,' HC Says
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said the MRI on the back of star edge-rusher Micah Parsons "came back pretty clean."
The four-time Pro Bowler has dealt with a minor back issue this month and teammate Trevon Diggs told reporters he underwent an MRI on Friday.
Parsons didn't suit up in Friday's 31-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons, but that had more to do with his ongoing contractual standoff with the Cowboys. Throughout training camp, he has been staging a hold-in in pursuit of a long-term extension.

Despite not playing, he made his presence felt at AT&T Stadium.
While walking through the tunnel prior to the game, he seemingly made a "call me" gesture when a Falcons fan suggested he swap Dallas for Atlanta:
Midway through the game, he also laid out on the training table to create a striking image:
While the significance of that was blown out of proportion, Parsons had to understand how the optics would look.
Schottenheimer told reporters he hadn't given much thought to what had happened on the sidelines.
"I was calling the game so I don't know any of that stuff," he said. "At the end of the day, we'll look at the film and we'll talk to everybody involved and we'll have a great assessment of how we did both on and off the field."
Schottenheimer added he believes Parsons will be available when Dallas plays the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 on Sept. 4.
Earlier in the summer, Cowboys fans probably weren't reaching for the panic button when it came to the lack of an extension. This is around the time last year when wide receiver CeeDee Lamb signed his new contract after a long holdout.
When Parsons and the team have seemingly made little progress, though, Schottenheimer and his staff may need to start drawing up some alternative game plans in case his defensive standout escalates the current impasse.
