Bills, Ravens, Chiefs Lead Betting Odds to Make NFL Playoffs During 2025 Season

Paul KasabianAug 21, 2025

The Buffalo Bills have the shortest odds (-750) to make the playoffs this season, followed by the Baltimore Ravens (-650) and Kansas City Chiefs (-380) to round out the top three, per DraftKings Sportsbook.

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are fourth (-370). The San Francisco 49ers are the first non-playoff team from 2024 on the list at -210.

The remainder of the top 10 includes the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (both at -170), the Los Angeles Rams (-160), the Denver Broncos (-155) and the Washington Commanders (-150).

It's no surprise that the Bills lead the odds ledger to make the playoffs. For starters, they're coming off a 13-4 season that ended with the Bills earning the AFC's No. 2 seed. In addition, Buffalo won the AFC East by five games over the Miami Dolphins. The 5-12 New York Jets and 4-13 New England Patriots rounded out the division.

All three of those teams have plus odds to even make the playoffs, so the Bills, on paper, have a clear path to win the East for the sixth straight season. Buffalo still looks strong too, led by reigning NFL MVP and quarterback Josh Allen.

As for the rest of the top four, the Ravens look great again led by two-time NFL MVP and quarterback Lamar Jackson. Baltimore had nine Pro Bowlers last year, and all of them are back in the mix. Unlike Buffalo, Baltimore may have a tougher path to the division, with a pair of winning teams last year (the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers) to contend with. The Ravens' talent can't be denied, though.

The Chiefs' 2024 season may have ended with a mighty thud in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, but they still have a superstar quarterback in three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. He's flanked by a ton of talent, including the No. 4 scoring defense in the league. The Chiefs' biggest obstacles en route to the playoffs are within their division, with two reigning playoff teams (the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos) in the mix alongside a potentially resurgent team (the Las Vegas Raiders) under new leadership in head coach Pete Carroll.

As for the defending Super Bowl champions, there's little reason to believe the Eagles won't be back in the playoffs. They return their core players on offense, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver A.J. Brown. Plus, a swarming and playmaking defense that gave Mahomes and the Chiefs fits last year is back in business as well, with most of the main players remaining in Philadelphia.
