Packers' Zach Tom Explains Fight with Seahawks, Getting Ejected After Throwing Punches
Green Bay Packers tackle Zach Tom revealed that his fight with Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV and cornerback Devon Witherspoon stemmed from Jones entering Green Bay's huddle, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.
"It's already disrespectful that they're in our huddle," Tom said, "and then somebody gets hit while we're in the huddle, got to have some pride, you know?"
Tom ended up exchanging punches with Jones and Witherspoon before he was ultimately kicked out of Thursday's joint practice.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"I feel like, yeah, I can have better control -- not throwing punches -- but I don't know," Tom added. "It is what it is, you know? I can only control what I can control."
While teams getting into physical altercations during joint practices is hardly an abnormal occurrence, tensions appeared to be particularly high between Green Bay and Seattle.
Roughly "a dozen skirmishes" broke out between the Packers and Seahawks during Thursday's two-hour practice session (via Henderson).
The Packers will be happy that Tom avoided an injury while involved in the extracurricular activities, as he signed a four-year contract extension worth $88 million that contained a record-breaking $30.2 million signing bonus in July.
He's set to enter his fourth season with Green Bay after the team selected him with a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, gradually blossoming into a key starter on the team's offensive line.
Tom received an impressive 87.5 grade for his 2024 season from Pro Football Focus, allowing just three sacks in 562 pass-blocking snaps.
While Tom was tossed for his role in the brawl on Thursday, he clarified that he was standing up for his teammates.
