Andy Reid's Office at Chiefs Facility Reportedly Hit By Bullet in May 2024
Andy Reid reportedly experienced a scare at his office at the Kansas City Chiefs facility last offseason.
Per Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star, a bullet broke through the glass of an office that Reid was in at the time. Fortunately, Reid was not hit by the bullet and sustained no injuries, and neither did anyone else in the facility, a Kansas City Police Department spokesperson said, per McDowell.
According to McDowell, Reid was alone in his office in the team's practice facilities when the bullet broke through the glass from outside the building and was lodged into the wall between his bathroom and the entry door to his office—about 15 feet from Reid's desk.

Also during the gunfire, one bullet hit the third floor, and another hit an air conditioning unit outside of the building.
The investigation is ongoing, and Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Capt. Jacob Becchina said "there is no indication this was a targeted incident at any person or organization."
"Because the building was occupied at the time of the bullet coming through the window, the case is being investigated as an aggravated assault," Becchina said, according to McDowell.
While Reid and other Chiefs staffers were not injured in the incident, the team has since taken extra security precautions. Along with a security guard on site 24 hours a day, the facility now features more perimeter fencing outside of the three practice fields and is monitored by security cameras. Reid's office now features bulletproof glass as well.
Reid has been the head coach of the Chiefs since 2013, winning three Super Bowls and appearing in five during his time with Kansas City.
