Cowboys HC Predicts Micah Parsons' Week 1 Status, 'I Feel Good' He'll Play vs. Eagles
Micah Parsons is currently in a contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys and has requested a trade away from the team, but head coach Brian Schottenheimer is confident he won't hold out of regular-season games.
Schottenheimer said he believes Parsons will play the Cowboys' season opener on Sept. 4.
"I feel good that Micah will be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles," he said, per ESPN's Todd Archer.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Earlier this month, Parsons posted a statement on social media stating that he "no longer" wants to play for the Cowboys. He said he had asked the team about a new contract last offseason, but the front office didn't want to negotiate a deal then.
Despite his agent advising him to wait to approach the Cowboys about a new deal earlier this offseason in hopes of getting a better deal, Parsons said he proceeded anyways because he wanted to "secure" himself with the organization "long term."
At the time of his post, he stated that Dallas had been mostly silent regarding contract talks.
Despite his request, the Cowboys said they had no intention of trading Parsons, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
As it currently stands, Parsons is set to play the 2025 season on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal and will make $24 million. If a new deal is not reached, Parsons will be arguably one of the most underpaid players in the NFL after pass rushers like T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby inked deals worth more than $35 million per year this offseason.
Parsons has recorded 12 or more sacks in each of his four NFL seasons. Last year, he racked up 43 tackles, 12 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles despite missing four games.
